Band of the Week: Two Door Cinema Club

Time again for Band of the Week! This time its an all time favourite of mine: Two Door Cinema Club. Originally from County Down in Northern Ireland, the band was formed in 2007 and have had a huge impact on the global Indie Rock and Pop scene. Their debut album ‘Tourist History‘ dropped in the March of 2010 and was full to the brim with bangers. In this album were some of their biggest hits such as ‘What You Know‘ and ‘Undercover Martyn.’

The band consists of 3 members: Alex Trimble, Kevin Baird and Sam Halliday. The lads started out with the band name ‘Life Without Rory,’ but after finishing last in a battle of the bands, and an overall lack of success it was eventually changed to what we know and love today. Interestingly, their name came from Sam Halliday’s pronunciation of their old hang out spot the ‘Tudor Cinema Club.’ Not the most creative name, but hey, who am I to judge? I’m a huge fan of their music and would recommend you listen to all of it. I particularly suggest trying out ‘What You Know‘ (their most successful track..), ‘Handshake,’ and ‘Eat That Up It’s Good For You.’ Happy listening!
